To get the most out of strawberry matcha tea, follow these preparation tips:
Hot matcha:
Use 1 teaspoon of powder for each cup of water (250 ml).
Heat the water to a temperature of 70-85°C (158-185°F).
Pour about half of the water over the matcha in a bowl.
Whisk vigorously with a matcha whisk (chasen) until the powder is fully dissolved and a light foam appears on the surface.
Add the rest of the water or, for a matcha latte, stir in frothed milk to taste.
Whisk again for a perfect texture.
Iced matcha:
Prepare the base by following the hot matcha steps.
Transfer the mixture to a shaker with ice.
Add unfrothed milk for an iced latte or cold water for a lighter version.
Shake energetically until the mixture is completely smooth.
Adjust the amount of matcha to the final volume you want, taking the ice into account: 1 spoonful for 250 ml, 2 for 500 ml, 3 for 750 ml.
Tips and tricks:
Boost the flavor: Add a drizzle of strawberry syrup or a little honey to intensify the natural sweetness of the matcha.
Explore your milk options: Vary the milks to create new combinations: coconut milk for an exotic touch, almond milk for a delicate taste or oat milk for a creamy texture.
Delicious desserts: Use this strawberry matcha as an ingredient in smoothies and ice creams, or even sprinkle it over desserts such as yogurt or pies to add a colorful, flavorful touch.
Serve it to suit the moment: Drink your matcha hot in the morning for an energy boost, or iced in the afternoon for a refreshing break.
Mix & Match: Try combining strawberry matcha with other flavors such as vanilla or raspberry to create unique new flavors.
